I have lived in Cubert for over forty five years and been a governor for twenty years.

Both of my children were educated at Cubert School and now I have two grandchildren attending the school.

My main roles on the Governing Board are safeguarding and HR although I have sat on all Committees over the years!

I enjoy everything to do with the countryside including the beach, being a member of HBSLSC, and a keen walker.

Mrs Tracey Wood

Co-opted Governor

As a co-opted governor, I look forward to being part of the school's journey in the coming years and hope to use my past experience to support my colleagues and the pupils at Cubert School.

I have been a teacher for twenty three years and have spent the vast majority of my career teaching at Cubert School, teaching across both key stages and being the Assistant Headteacher.

I have many fond memories of both pupils and staff and it is with great pleasure that I have now joined the governing body.

Mr Alastair Sneddon

Mrs Lisa Ham

Co-opted Governor

18/12/20 – 17/12/24

I grew up and went to school in Hertfordshire before moving to Cornwall in 1981.

I have three children who all went to Cubert School and chaired the PTA. After a career change in 2002, I began working here.

I have many roles in the school including HLTA, Sen interventions, Nurture Support and Wrap Around Care.

My governing responsibilities are PSHE and Community Cohesion.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, long walks with my dogs, cooking and being creative.

Mrs Karen Brown (Head)

Ex Officio

01/09/08 – ongoing

Mrs Natalie Austin

Staff Governor

I grew up in Berkshire and studied Archaeology at The University of Reading.

I started my teaching career in museums before qualifying to teach in schools. I taught in Buckinghamshire before moving to Cornwall with my two children in 2018 to live near my family.

When I am not at work I am an avid reader and love exploring. We visit historical and archaeological sites all over the UK, walk, camp, climb peaks and generally enjoying being outside.

I have joined the governing body and the Curriculum Committee to help the children to access a broad curriculum to help develop a lifelong love of learning.

Mrs Louise Rowbotham

Parent Governor

I am a parent governor with two children at the school. I am new to the governing board and I am passionate about securing the best for the children at the school.

I moved to Cornwall in 2019 with my family and I am the Director Of The Duchy Hospital in Truro. Any free time that I have is spent with my husband, daughter and son (preferably on the beach, water or bikes).

Mrs Nicola Trudgeon

Assoc Member

08/07/20 – 07/07/21

Mrs Linda Clackett

Independent Clerk to Governors

16/03/22 - present

I was appointed Clerk in March, 2022 and provide an independent clerking service to several schools in the area.

Originally from Truro, I live in Bodmin and enjoy working in different primary schools, providing advice to the Full and Local Governing Boards on governance, constitutional and procedural matters.

I provide administrative support to the Board, ensure the Board is properly constituted and manages information effectively in accordance with legal requirements.
